Clifford Santimaw Photograph Collection - 1925 - 1930

The collection includes 36 pages holding 114 black and white photographs of sizes 6.25 inches by 4.25 inches and 3.50 inches by 2.50 inches. Some of the images were taken by professional photographers including post cards and some were snap shots, probably taken by the donor.

Images of public buildings include Iolani Palace, government buildings, Waikiki hotels, the Morman Temple, the Aquarium, public library, Honolulu Jail, Waikiki Shell, and Diamond Head lighthouse.

Photos of parks include the Phoenix statue in Kapiolani Park, various shrines, and Hawaiian thatched houses.

Landscapes include Punahou School grounds, royal palm vistas, garden statuary, Moanalua Gardens scenes, Nuuanu Pali, windward Oahu, and air views of Kapiolani Park racecourse, and Honolulu.

Street scenes include Honolulu streets, parades, harbor scenes, and Chinese alter scenes.

Images of Hawaiian people include children and hula dancers.

Six pages of snapshots taken at Volcanoes National Park include lava flows, steam vents, forest scenes, and a lava tube. Many of the images include Park signage.
