Ray Jerome Baker Collection

This collection contains 104 images by photographer, filmmaker, and lecturer Ray Jerome Baker (1880-1972). Two other images in the collection are attributed to J.J. Williams.

Baker, from Rockford, Illinois, lived and worked in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Eureka, California, prior to moving to Hawaii in 1910 (having visited the Islands in 1908). He was active as a photographer until 1959 and produced thousands of photographic images as black-and-white prints, postcards, books, and glass plates.
